Classes & Level Descriptions
Pre and Post Natal Pilates You can think of this class as ‘flat tummies for mummies’. This class targets all the areas expectant mums and new mums want and need to target. It gives a safe, effective and functional Pilates based workout. The class uses bespoke wedges to lie on and small equipment. Babies welcome. For further details click on the class title above.
Small Equipment This class incorporates a range of small equipment such as the magic circle, foam roller, soft ball and dynaband to create an intense and varied workout. This class is not for the faint hearted! Pilates on the Ball requirement level 2+ this workout will challenge your balance, strength & stamina – not for the fainthearted!
Pilates For Men This class provides the ideal solution to your aches and pains, it is the best way to improve your game from golf to squash and will increase your stamina in your hobbies whether it be hiking or mountain biking. Pilates achieves this by improving: Core Strength; Mobility; Full Body Tone and Flexibility.
Pilates Principles This class is for those who have no experience of Pilates and would like to join a Leeds Pilates Place Class. The class will introduce you to the foundations of Pilates, for e.g. core stability, alignment and good posture.
Reformer Orientation This is for those who have no experience of the Reformer and is a short session that will cover health and safety and how the Reformer works.
Screening This is for those who will be attending Private tuition in Pilates or Hendrickson method and will involve a full postural assessment and health screening.
Hendrickson Method This is a private treatment of clinical massage for relief of musculoskeletal disorders.
Level 1 - Beginner For those seeking a gentle intro to the principles of Pilates. This class will build core stability and learn good postural alignment.
Level 2 – Improver For those who have completed a minimum of one Level 1 course. This class will start to challenge you more, using more muscle groups.
Level 3 - Intermediate For those who have consistently attended Level 2 and have a solid foundation and understanding of the principles and their application within the core exercises. The class introduces more classical repertoire and is a faster paced class. The prerequisites are double leg 100 and full roll up.
Level 4 – Advanced This class uses more classical repertoire to challenge the principles for greater strength and endurance. This is fun and fast paced class with the option of more choreography and flow between exercises.
Mixed Level This class offers a range of options to accommodate all levels of experience in one class. Pre requisite level 1.
